Welcome from the Principal
Welcome to Abbeyfield School
We pride ourselves in being a community that is welcoming, aspirational, happy and hard working.
We work hard to ensure pupils receive the very best education in order that they can become empowered young adults, through gaining the best qualifications possible. A person with choices is more likely to be happy and fulfilled; now and in the future.
Our job at school is to educate pupils, keep them safe, and to promote their personal development. Pupils` jobs are to come to school every day, look smart, be ready to learn and whilst in school, behave well and follow our routines in the following way:
Right Place – Right Time – All the Time.
We want pupils to be involved in all aspects of school life and to pursue their interests through our rich extra-curricular offer. We believe in keeping everything really straightforward and unless an idea or initiative is rooted in benefiting pupils’ education, keeping everyone safe, or promoting personal development - then we won’t do it.
We believe that our Performing Arts and Sport offer make us unique. We have excellent facilities that include a professional theatre and two dance studios together with a sports centre, gymnasium and a fully fitted gym. Our shows are spectacular, and earlier in the year saw our fantastic production of “Everybody's Talking about Jamie.” We also have access on site to “Goals” a facility that houses a number of astro turf all year pitches. We run our own Football Academy in conjunction with The Crystal palace Football Foundation for pupils in the sixth form.
We run a free Breakfast club for pupils who wish to arrive at school early to start the day in a nice warm environment with friends where they can enjoy something to eat and drink as well as an opportunity to complete homework or study.
Since joining in November I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know students, staff and many of the parents and I looking forward continuing to do so here at Abbeyfield School.
